Early Years Support

Please see below for Early Years support available from the Early Years Service (EYS) at Bucks Council:

As from September 2021, all schools will have a named Key Contact specifically for Early Years: this would be one of 5 teacher advisors within the service. As such, they will be the first point of contact, providing advice and ensuring the correct level of support is offered to you from the EYS. In the Autumn term, there will be one headline virtual phone call with the Head teacher and Early Years lead. Focus areas within the Early Years Service will be discussed. There will then be one follow up support visit either in the Spring or Summer term for schools with reception classes only, decided on the headline call. Schools with nurseries will have one support visit in the Spring and Summer term.

All schools also have a named EY SEND advisor. They are able to provide general SEND and child specific support as appropriate to the needs of the child and the setting.

All EY providers also have access to:

  • Three NWG meetings per year
  • Three SENCO Liaison groups a year.
  • Half termly newsletter – Early Years News and Views
  • Half termly SEND specific newsletter
  • All have access to book onto the CPD courses.

The above is all free, except the CPD courses, which vary in price according to whether virtual or face to face and length of course.

Early Years Training & Qualifications  - this is the link to the EYS webpage and training calendar – the second tile in the middle takes you through to the CPD webpage to book courses and this has a live function to run through all available courses, including those that can be booked now for the Autumn term onwards.
