
NPQ Leading Literacy and Early Years Leadership in partnership with UCL
From September 2022 there will be two new NPQs: the NPQLL and the NPQEYL.
Astra is partnering with UCL for these fully funded NPQs.

NPQ in Early Years Leadership
The aims of the National Professional Qualification for Early Years Leadership (NPQEYL) are to strengthen the quality of pedagogical leadership in Private, Voluntary and Independent (PVI) nurseries, school-based nurseries and childminder settings, to empower leaders to set a clear vision for their settings, to champion EYFS reforms and (particularly for PVI leaders) to equip them to lead efficient businesses and support the recovery of children’s development that has been impacted by the pandemic, through improved leadership of early years settings, strengthening staff pedagogy and bolstering knowledge of children’s early development.

NPQ in Leading Literacy
The aims of the National Professional Qualification for Leading Literacy (NPQLL) are to develop strong pedagogical and subject specific knowledge, to provide a means for the development of literacy teaching in primary and secondary schools and to improve pupil’s literacy outcomes.
